OK...

...the last submission was brilliant. Hope you read it while it was up here.
If not, know this: you missed a good one.

I got called out...and they were right

Folks,
I signed up for a website called "Arguing with Republicans is a waste of time"  And a Republican friend of mine called me out on it.
I felt about this big. Way to go Mr. Compassion.
So as a statement, I am making sure that I un-dumb the Facebook website selections that I've previously thought were cute. "Things Republicans Hate" is the next to go.

Why should we Give?

This is the question posed on Annabel's Facebook Page:

Essay on Anger

I had coffee with my middle child this morning, and although she is an absolutely wonderful person, I found that she likes a TV show about two angry, aggressive fitness trainers yelling at fat people.

Activism Works in San Diego!

Article from today's "San Diego Union."  Ocean Beach is a very laid back, beach front community.

Be Not Afraid

"Fears are like dragons guarding our most precious treasures." -Rilke
"Live boldly and walk with faith, in yourself and in each other."  -Ed McShane

The Starting Place in the Dialog is...

"The best way to destroy an enemy is to make him a friend." -Abraham Lincoln
That said, we are all Americans; we have no enemies among us. We have so, so much in common with one another: Children, traffic, hairdo's, and chocolate, to name a few. Start there...and begin speaking to one another.

OODA Loop for Compassion

I know a very nice man, a Marine Corps Colonel, that told me about how he now runs his business with this assessment tool he learned while in the Military:
OODA Loop.
Observe, Orient, Decide, Act.
Apply thusly: OBSERVE the need for kindness; ORIENT toward your involvement to that need; DECIDE your intervention and ACT WITH KINDNESS, OPENNESS, UNDERSTANDING AND COMPASSION.
We are all in this thing together.
Peace.
